Semilinear Elliptic Boundary-value Problems on Bounded Multiconnected Domains
A semilinear elliptic boundary-value problem on bounded multiconnected domains is studied. The authors prove that under suitable conditions, the problem may have no solutions in certain cases and many have one or two nonnegative solutions in some other cases. The radial solutions were also studied in annular domains.
متن کاملRobin Boundary Value Problems on Arbitrary Domains
We develop a theory of generalised solutions for elliptic boundary value problems subject to Robin boundary conditions on arbitrary domains, which resembles in many ways that of the Dirichlet problem. In particular, we establish Lp-Lq-estimates which turn out to be the best possible in that framework. We also discuss consequences to the spectrum of Robin boundary value problems. Finally, we app...
متن کاملRegularity estimates for elliptic boundary value problems with smooth data on polygonal domains
We consider the model Dirichlet problem for Poisson’s equation on a plane polygonal convex domain W with data f in a space smoother than L2. The regularity and the critical case of the problem depend on the measure of the maximum angle of the domain. Interpolation theory and multilevel theory are used to obtain estimates for the critical case. As a consequence, sharp error estimates for the cor...
متن کاملSupraconvergence and Supercloseness of a Discretisation for Elliptic Third-kind Boundary-value Problems on Polygonal Domains
Abstract — The third-kind boundary-value problem for a second-order elliptic equation on a polygonal domain with variable coefficients, mixed derivatives, and first-order terms is approximated by a linear finite element method with first-order accurate quadrature. The corresponding bilinear form does not need to be strongly positive. The discretisation is equivalent to a finite difference schem...
متن کاملExistence Theorems for Nonselfadjoint Semilinear Elliptic Boundary Value Problems
where E is a real elliptic linear differential operator in a bounded domain G of R” with a given system of linear homogeneous conditions, say, BX = 0 on the boundary aG of G and where N is a Nemitsky type nonnecessarily linear operator. We shall make use here of the alternative method, and particularly we shall make use for the elliptic case of new remarks. These remarks suggest that both the a...
